Since we are talking about July in Cozumel what exposure protection do ya"ll use at this time of year? I know there are other threads to discuss but I have you're attention now.;):D

I'm half polar bear, so I literally dive in a swim suit and a long sleeve UV shirt, this one to be exact:

UV Skinz - Darren - Long Sleeve - Steel Grey

I have vitiligo so I have to be careful with sun exposure and this works perfectly. Offers no thermal protection what so ever though, but it is comfy and air dries on the boat in minutes. 50+ SPF too!

Same here. I either dive in just swim trunks, or I will add a cheap O'neill (I think) UV shirt to keep from getting scratched up by a worn BCD or zip-ties. Ideally, everyone that visits Cozumel would be an expert diver and the reef would be pristine. In reality, skin shirts and the like are also exposure protection for your skin from bumping into a reef, etc.. The currents can get the best of anyone out there. If you think you can handle the temps, add a light layer for your morning dive, just in case. From there you will be able to gauge your tolerances better. Note the temps and gear worn in your dive log for your next trip.

3 mil shorty is perfect for me + a beanie as it keeps the hair out of my face... I tend to get cold easy, esp on the second dive. No boat jackets needed in summer - yay!

Is it going to be a bit too hot and uncomfortable to walk from Blue Angel into town for dinner?? We've been debating about whether we want to get a car or not.

From what I've read the cab ride is only $3-4 each way. Wouldn't it make more sense to cab it than rent a car for the whole time? Unless you are planning on exploring the island of course.

Just depends on how used to hot and humid you are. :) It's doable, but if like me - you may be a sweaty mess when you get there :)

It probably would be if it's that cheap. Is it easy to pick up a cab from Blue Angel?

Jersey can get pretty humid and muggy in July and I hate it lol. I think since it's our honeymoon we may splurge on cab rides or a car.

BA is right on the main street......taxis will go by in the hundreds all day long. you would have to beat them off with a stick. Just glance at one and they will pull over. :) Be sure on the fare before you get in though.
