I don't have tech deep yet, but someone I dive with who has just gotten adv. trimix reported temps in the high 20's at 360'+ in that lake. is that realistic?

The temp at Attakulla Lodge (300 ffw) is always about 40-41 degrees. This may be a dumb question, but if the water is 20 degrees, wouldn't it be ice??:loki3:

yeah, I'm thinking we were talking about another lake now. but I *think* that its possible to have water below freezing that is still liquid. it is under pressure and water is at its most dense around 4c. when it is compressed, ice liquifies. that's why ice skates work. its believable to me, based on my limited knowledge.

Actually as water temperature decreases so does its density so it rises, otherwise all of the oceans would be just a few feet of water over a mile or so of ice.

I did a class today thursday June 5th, 2008 at the ramp. The first platform is still damaged and was is 11 feet, the line that runs from the second platform to the bones family was torn apart. so if I don't get back to repair it you may still find them by using the old steel platform that is in three feet of water to the left of the ramp, that yellow line is still intact. at 60 feet the water was 66 degrees and at 25 feet it was 72 degrees with excellent mid week 20 foot vis.
