Upcoming Seminar at BTS
I still have a few spots left in the Rebreather Fundamentals Workshop with Rebreather Pro Jill Heinerth - Sunday March 25 from 9am - 4pm at the Beneath the Sea Diving Symposium.
Meadowlands Exposition Center, Seacaucus New Jersey Classroom session: $95 will include many educational resources to take home. Tickets available online at:www.BeneathTheSea.org (space is limited) Enjoy a full-day academic session withCCR expert Jill Heinerth. Using fascinating stories and a multimedia presentation, Jill will cover all the essentials of rebreather diving.
If you are looking to purchase a rebreather, this is an opportunity to learn how to be a wise consumer and make the choice that is right for you. If you already own a rebreather and want a review of academics, new trends and the future of CCR diving, then this seminar will offer an opportunity to gather new information. If you want to prevent yourself from joining the ranks of 20 or so people who perish each year on rebreathers, this workshop will inform you about accident analysis and prevention. If you want a day with an expert who will carefully answer your questions and help you find solutions, then this is your best opportunity to spend a day with Jill. If you want to see how rebreathers are being used in exciting expeditions around the world, this full-day road show will entertain and motivate you to participate in CCR diving.
The workshop is non-denominational… all training agencies and all manufacturers are welcome. All levels of divers are welcome from recreational through technical divers.
Topics: Rebreather operations and procedures Basics, types, operation and essential care Selecting a rebreather: comparing apples and oranges Selecting an instructor Understanding CE testing Myths and misconceptions about rebreather diving Carbon dioxide: dangerous and ignored Reducing oxygen issues Planning for the future: deep mixed-gas operations Accident analysis and prevention: beating the complacency trap Traveling with rebreathers: tips and warnings Lots of time for questions...and answers
See you there -- Jill

Yes, you missed a pretty good show and plenty of seminars/classes

Dude, fill us all in! We want to hear your impressions and anything that made you go "aha!"

For the most part, the booths had plenty of information. Tons of info on travel, both specific destinations representing themselves, groups representing and area and travel companies that can get you scheduled just about anywhere. There were a lot of manufacturers there who were able to give out lots of information and ask questions about their products, plus show us what they have. Food, beer, etc. always available at the show. I enjoyed seeing people that I dove with in various places locally and around the world. Plenty of familiar faces.

I browsed quickly Friday night and then went to the party at the Embassy next door. It was a great opportunity to mix, mingle and make connections.

I spent the entire day in a HOG repair class Saturday so I was again limited in time at the show. I made up for it on Sunday when I was by myself and got to look around for a few hours.

My aha moment was actually Saturday night when for the first time, I went to the Film Festival. In the past I never thought it would be anything to see, but after going there, I realized how much I have been missing. These short films were absolutely amazing and the event was kept light and funny. I stood in the back near Jill H and still have never seen here without a hat on or other head covering/hood. Hmmmmm

I know this is not an all encompassing review, just a basic, simple one. I guess the best part about a big show is the interaction with other divers and networking.

NetDoc can attest that under her headscarf or hat, Jill Heinerth has a pointy space alien head. Lord knows, she is not from THIS planet.

Like Capt Zissou had a trademark red skull hat, Jill has her trademark Do-Rag!
