Is it true that after buying a jetstream and a mares abyss octo that now I cant use them together effectivly, I have read that they arnt compatible. is this the same with buying a console of a different make as I have started to buy my own kit. help me before I buy more!

You need to match up IPs (intermediate pressures) of the regs before determining if you can mix mfgrs.
Mares calls for an IP of 135 - 140, or 128 - 132 if the cold water kit is installed.
Your Jetstream will use an IP of 145 - 152.

You shouldn't drop performance by an intolerable amount if the Jetstream gets dialed down to 140, I'm not sure about the Mares getting adjusted up.
I'd say check it out (unless ya wanna buy another Jetstream 2nd)

the Abysmal Regulator is a Poseidon first stage [turned down] with a Kirby Morgan/DSI second stage I use a Poseidon firststage turned down as my primary reg I have never noticed any problems .there would have to be some drop in airflow but I dont know if any studies have been done .
