I heard that if I carry a bottle of meat tenderizer it helps with the sting too. When I told cubby to remind me to get some meat tenderizer for my bag she got this funny look and asked wouldnt smacking the jelly fish with that pointy lil hammer hurt worse? Kids.

Meat tenderizer works great. My face got covered (around the mask and mouthpiece) a few years back and this really helped. I was wearing a full one-piece wetsuit and gloves, so I was protected elsewhere. If you get stung, be sure to rinse off the area really well before using the tenderizer. I had a few tentacles break off that ended-up stinging my hands and face while I was rinsing them off.

I don't know about jelly fish stings but I was stung by a bee one time on my thumb. I was told meat tenderizer would help. I smashed my thumb with the meat tenderizer and sure enough I forgot all about the pain from the sting. :bash:

Gee thanks for the support there. But think of this, u carry both vinegar and meat tenderizer. U can soak the sting and tenderize the fish u spear along the way.
