When I saw the title I was a little suspicious because I've made 5 dives in the last 4 weeks and I didn't see any unusual amounts of jellyfish. I've seen a good number of them but it is that time of year. I watched a NETGOW on jellyfish but I think it was from 2006. I guess there was a cyclical bloom in the population then. Amazing creatures! They are geared toward survival of the species big time! I'm glad we don't have some of the jellyfish they have down under and around other parts of the world. One species was so small most people didn't see what stunk them and most didn't survive the sting. Nasty!

I was at the causway at one of out state beaches yesterday and the jellies looking like they are in their ephyra to small medusa form were coming in with the tides droves.

I may suggest that you'll see the tiny ones at this time in vast numbers.

Lots of them out in CT (Stonington) last Friday, all sizes from fingernail up.

Are you thinking of Irukandji jelly fish in the Australia region?

Yeah, seems like they'd be amazingly dangerous.

Richard.

That would be the nasty little critter.
