Ok, let us recap this weekend.
I dove Deadman's Reef in Laguna Beach on Saturday 22 January. This is usally a good visibility site if everything else is bad due to its location 300 yards off shore. Vis was ZERO unelss you had a light, then you got 3 feet or less.

Scott dives the pinnacles at Point Dume the Malibu ususal good visibility site. on Saturday, same visibility 0-3feet.

DiveVEts dive Long Point (old Marineland) the Palos Verde good visibiilty site and get skunked on visibility and current. (It was 10-15 last week, now it is 3 feet). Jim McCabe, The Dive Vets and I went to Marineland today, just in case the conditions had changed. From shore the decision was made to go home dry.

So what does that leave us? Laguna Beach, no vis, Palos Verde no vis, Malibu No Vis. Did I mention Wetsand is litterly dancing with joy over this comming weeks forecast? Cribbage anyone?

These are the times when a boat is a handy thing. Anacapa yesterday on the Peace, 4 dives, progressivly better and better viz, 9 scallops. The beaches are frustration personified right now, sometimes you gotta pay to play.

When you use the term 'Jeepers'...No! :mischief:

Hmmm Laguna Sea Sport is claiming some visibility at Shaws Cove at 4:00 pm today. Do I dare beliveve it, do I go dive it tomorrow. Let me see, 2 full tanks, and 2 dry wetsuits. It could happen. But then so could the Peace on Wednesday....

Just consulted with the wife. Anacapa on Wednesday may take a bit more work than I had planned and cost a bit more too. But still, better visibiility and a day diving, it could be worth it. More to follow.

Laguna Sea Sports is saying 6-10' at 4pm today at Shaw's. We were there today at 10am and had 2-6'. The viz seemed to get worse the further out we went. Cut the dive short.

Saturday at Shaw's the viz at 4:18pm was 0-5'. At 5:30pm. it improved to 2-5'. Both dives cut short due to viz.

Seemed like a waste to dive this weekend. Spent more time cleaning my gear than in the water. :11:

Hi Guys,

I was on the Great Escape this weekend. Went to Catalina and dove Little Farnsworth with spectacular viz!!! Also dove Tarquoa Springs and Hen Rock. Beautiful weather, great company. Might want to support the local dive boats until conditions improve.

I'm hoping to dive Laguna this week, sometime. Was down there last Thursday night and the waves were coming in pretty big at that time. yikes!

Casino Dive Park has something approaching vis. It was apparently as high as 40 feet yesterday, but I felt it was 15-20 by my last dive today.

Hi, my name is David and it's been 42 days since my last dive.

I went down to Laguna on Saturday and took some topside pictures of Crescent for my dive shop's website. It didn't look promising. Lots of surfers. 3-4' waves. Talked to a couple of guys waiting for a buddy to show up so they could do Navigation and Night dives. Kind of wonder how that turned out for them.

I stayed dry this weekend, and it looks like the weather is conspiring to keep it that way... I might have to try and do a kamikaze dive tonight or tomorrow night before the rain comes back.

I should have gone out on a boat this weekend. Maybe I'll convince the wife to take the Express over to Catalina next weekend and do some diving off the point.

Why don't you and Renee go down to La Jolla for the Wrinkles Dive and meet a bunch of ScubaBoard members for a day of diving and BBQing?

It's open to anyone even non-divers and always proves to be a great time.

You know, I should occasionally read the other threads on the board now and then...

We keep on saying we want to dive LJ. Maybe we'll actually make it down this time!
