Take note of the vis at the surface. It was worse at depth. The second or upper light is a reflection off the ice. The light is a UK800R 5' away.

What a contrast to the vis we have under the ice. By mid Jan. the vis clears up to upwards of 100 feet under the ice.

Now the rivers are a different story. Grope on the end of a rope is all you are able to do regardless of the season.
