And all the way down to Honduras:

We're headed to Roatan tomorrow for a few days. Could be "interesting" weather...

Is it wind speed or wind gusts over 25 km/hr that triggers a port closure? If it's wind speed (the top line in Wind Guru) then the current forecast leaves hope that the port will be open Thursday.
Check to see what the wind speed is being measured in. I believe that it defaults to knots. You want to use the options button to switch it to km/h. Thursday is still showing at least 30 km/h with Friday and Saturday much worse.

Port closures for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (so far). Waves in the channel are very large and choppy and the wind is *ripping*. After seeing the conditions IRL, I totally get why they close the port. I wouldn’t want to be out on a small boat in these conditions.

For historical reference, here are the conditions and status for Monday-Thursday (posting this on Thursday):

I ended up diving with ProTec in Cenote Chikin-Ha on Wednesday and Cenote Dos Ojos today. They were both fantastic sites, and I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to dive with an incredible instructor from ProTec. It’s a truly first rate shop. I’m out of the water on Friday, but at least I’ll fly home with dry gear on Saturday.

Thanks all for the help!

I'm so glad you still got to dive. When I saw your post and the weather that transpired, I was so bummed out for you! Good to know the cenotes are an option, I've never tried it before.

thanks! The cenotes were well worth the trip, I’d highly recommend a trip at least once. I might have caught the “wet rock” bug. I’m seeing lots of practicing and intense training in my future (and a lot of pain in the bank account)…
