Looks like probable Port closures Wed, Thurs, Fri .

Is it wind speed or wind gusts over 25 km/hr that triggers a port closure? If it's wind speed (the top line in Wind Guru) then the current forecast leaves hope that the port will be open Thursday.

Mostly wind direction. Winds coming from the north clash with the current coming from the south and create waves capable of sinking small boats.

I believe it is mostly when there is a westerly component to the wind that kicks up the waves hitting the shoreline where all the docks are.

Thanks, but isn't there a specific wind speed threshold as well for north winds?
It seems to be anything with north or west winds above 14 knots will result in port closure. Looks like the port will be closed wed thurs fri and possibly saturday.

Yeah, what we have been experiencing here in Texas has also been affecting Cozumel, and it's not your usual garden variety cold front that passes quickly and done.
