For anyone interested: I recently spoke to the owners of Conanicut Marine(the Marina in dowtown Jamestown, East side). They purchased the fill station from OSS. The system is out for inspection right now. They hope to have it up and running by July(after the busy boat launch rush is over). The plan as I understand it is that the fills will be provided at the Ship's store which is right next to the Oyster Bar on Narragansett Ave.

thanks Sean, I know many ppl have been wondering what to do w/o OSS. Good to know there will be fills in Jamestown. Do you know if the marina is going to have any other diving services besides air fills?

John,
Thanks for the update. How's your recovery coming? Can't wait to get out with you again this season.

John,

Again; thanks for the information. That will make CM the only place that I know of in these parts where we can pull in with a vessel and get fills. Very convenient!

Hope your recuperation is going well.

Got my boat out, engine running and all systems checked out. Hoping the weather cooperates and we can get out this weekend. With any luck we can get together this year for a dive or two.

Dennis

I doubt it. I don't think they are interested in getting into the dive business. They just want to keep the fill station on the Island.

Chris I just got cleared to dive yesterday. I still have to figure out how to protect the
graft site from chafing as it is right where the seal from my mask is going to fall. I am hard at work getting the boat ready. We have done some improvements this year.
we are also getting ready for Truk in June.

Yes it will. The July date could move so I will let you know when it is actually up and running.
That is always good when everything runs well. Mine goes in on May 19th. The weather has been crap so far.

Yes we need to get togethor. I would like to hit the Pinthis this year.

. . . I would like to hit the Pinthis this year.

We certainly will make it a point to plan that dive. It is one of my favorite shallow wrecks in MA. On the way back we could jump on the Winsor.

I'll second that. Great dive, actually that's the only place I've ever met you (kind of). I was out on the Daybreaker and ran into you and your buddy Harry on that really foggy memorial day weekend out at the Pinthis about 2 years ago.

Though I think my favorite MA wreck is still the Port Hunter. Maybe it is partly sentimental because it was the first wreck I ever dove from my Dad's boat back when I was still in high school but I love that dive.
