You guys crack me up!:rofl3: :rofl3:

If you have or want to play any underwater card/board game you are a member!

I would love to play but it might be hard here in SoCal. The ocean has to many currents and surges. I can see it now, KQ2 - whoosh - woops - its checkmate!

I have to figure this out!

Trivial answer (just add a ferromagnetic board). :D

ClayJar:
Okay, how about *this*...

Take one laminated "map". Add a grease pencil. Now add several colored dice in a clear-topped watertight plastic case (since you can't roll dice reliably in water -- the viscosity's too high for good rolls). Add in a special deck of laminated cards. What do you have?

Underwater RISK! *That* would be worth a game.

Of course, you know where all this will lead, don't you? We're going to end up playing Monopoly underwater. It simply must be, sooner or later. (No paper money -- just an accounting slate. The board would be done as a laminated "slate" and operated with a grease pencil or whatever, and all the cards would have to be laminated, but it'd be workable.)

Hmm....

We *really* need to schedule a weekend for the first ISOSAD Air/Nitrox Dives for Underwater Gaming, Leisure, and You (ISOSAD: AND UGLY -- hey, it's eye-catching, and we certainly can't take ourselves too seriously, eh? :D). I don't really care where it is, as long as there is a decent 10-20' platform on which to play (since we'll need a platform for some of the games, and shallower is better for thermal and air consumption considerations). I can bring several decks of various cards (UNO and Bicycle), and I'll volunteer to do Risk *and* Monopoly for my board game submissions. Someone else can do checkers, chess, and maybe Chinese checkers? We already have Connect Four, don't we?

So far, my schedule's open any of the following weekends:
  • June 9-10
  • June 23-24
  • July 7-8
  • July 21-22
Let's get this party going and see how many divers we can get (but even if it's just a good handful of us, we really ought to do it).

So, who's in for the first ISOSAD: AND UGLY? :D

Clay, you're my new god, just for the concept of underwater risk. We'd have to have a lot of refills, though...

As for those dates...if I can scrounge up the money, I'm totally in...anyone else?

If I'm home...

ClayJar- are you talking about an ISOSAD: AND UGLY gettogether in YOUR neck of the woods or are you thinking about traveling up this way?
Whatever it takes. ;)

Actually, I'm on three-day weekends from now through the end of July, so I'm pretty much fine with anything within the general outline of Phoenix, Denver, Minneapolis, Mackinac, New York, and Key West, i.e. roughly 20 Google-hours from Baton Rouge. I can take off a Monday for the return drive and be able to spend a full Saturday and Sunday diving. :D

(It's quite warm above the thermocline during the summer at Blue Water in Pelham, AL, (south side of Birmingham), but as long as the site has a platform at the requisite 10-20-foot level, anywhere should be decently acceptable, and there seems to be a higher ISOSAD member density up your way. :D)

Uggg....When I got banned for being a spammer, I lost all of my thread subscriptions and I'm just not trolling for the new threads as much as I use to, so I totally missed this until now!

Once there's warm water, I'm in if everyone is willing to go somewhere in the Ohio/Indiana area. Unfortunately, I don't think any trips are in my future.

I don't trust anyone else to get my Rufus dog's meds right.....Yes, I know, that's rather sad, but I do dote on my Rufus puppy.
