I'll remember this when I bury you all in the shallow grave I'm preparing.

Unless, of course, I go on a hot winning streak. Which I WILL do at some point.

So, when's the next game?

Incidentally, I noticed several of the Texas quarries close in the winter! What's up with that? Just because they can't have an ice-diving course, they roll over during the best vis of the year (i.e. when sane people are at home). Do the ScubUNO-compatible quarries up there close for the winter, too? (And if they do, when do they reopen?)

The quarries don't close...the divers quit diving since most aren't dry suits divers.

Ah, there is that, I suppose. I decided to do my part to help combat obesity in the American public -- i.e. I decided a drysuit was worth a bit of indentured servitude to The Great All-Powerful Ramen. Of course, it may have backfired, as you burn a lot fewer calories when you're not borderline hypothermic anymore. :D

No dry suit = no dive :(

Depends on the quarry, I think. Some of them are still open for ice divers or others that like it cold.

I'll stick to my once a month pool dives.
(Had one earlier in Feb. There was a ScubUNO game, but *gasp* I didn't play 'cause I was trying out my underwater housing for the dig. cam.)

Wait a minute! You had a perfectly legitimate excuse to get away with cheating at ScubUNO, and you didn't take it? What are your opponents going to think of you now?

(We don't have pool dives here... although someday I may have to bring it up.)

Looks like fun, but why is everyone lying on the ground?

:mooner:

Actually, by lying on the bottom, they keep their gauges from dangling down. :D

Lol . . it's 'cause we're all PADI - we were taught to kneel on the ground :)

(Okay, sorry 'bout the PADI bashing. Don't hate me now. Actually I think only one person there was PADI.)

I tried to go in between hovering above the bottom and resting on it. But after the first ten minutes, most of us said F-it, and just rested on the bottom. The games in the quarries we don't *rest* as much just because the playing surface is usually a platform or car top or something that isn't as big as the pool bottom, so you play, float around a bit, drop back down, play, float off a bit, etc.... Actually the instructor that was in on a hand during the last pool dive is thinking about using it as a exercise to work on buoyancy (gotta stay off the bottom) and communicating underwater 'cause if you got enough players *some one* is going to get confuse on who's turn it is, what different cards do, etc.
