No seasonal problems here except for those pesky hurricanes. People put on their winter clothes (Long sleeve shirts) when it gets to the low 70's here :cold: Can dive any day depending on wind and rain messing with the visibility. Spring is just a few hours away when ever the clouds move out.....

Dive season ... diving this weekend in Glosta' isn't happenin' as the waves are lapping haaaard here and the water is murky. Don't want to get slapped around by a Wicked wave.

I forgot to add that winter is oyster season here and also Nubble is open on Sundays with minimal tourists to deal with

Who plans to still dive and who will wait till next spring?

Chances are my local diving will be slowing down. The offseason is also a chance to get to a few sites that I don't want to dive in the summer, mainly the Gloucester breakwater. I also plan on taking a few trips this winter, not sure yet but I do take a yearly trip to Florida. Who knows, ice diving may also be on the schedule for this year.

Mine only ends when I am low on funds. Drysuit in the winter and anything else I can get by with.

The best diving up here in Puget Sound is in the winter. If the roads are driveable to the dive site, I'll dive it. I'll also get some diving in on my annual Christmas visit to Florida and the Caribbean. Winter ends up being my coldest and warmest dives. My warmest dive ever was on the coldest day I ever dived--outside air temp was 29 F, water temp at 45 ft was 96 F.

I'm diving in Newport tomorrow. I'll dive all winter. Really nice vis sometimes, and not a lot of other divers to stir things up. The fish are slower and make better potog subjects.

I've surfaced to snow a few times myself!

Peak winter for me means it's time to service the equipment - so there is a little down time for that. But "off-season" also means that it is time to upgrade. And when that happens - then as all good diver must do......only thing to do is hop into my LDS giant 84F indoor pool.....just to test and train, train, train on the new necessities.
