This may have been addressed on this board, but I can't bear to search 1 more hour. Much on the "+" 10% overfill but not exactly what I'm looking for.
I have 2 short & stubby (15"x5.5") Worthington steel bailout/deco bottles (X530) with neck & valve stampings of 3130 psi, and a factory "+" stamp on the bottle. My dilema is, is the 30 CF @ 3130 psi, or the 110% of 3442 psi? If 30 at the calculated higher pressure, then I only have 27 CF at the stamped 3130. And if it's 30 @ 3130 psi, then I have 33 CF at 3442.
Tnx in advance.

It's the full marketed cubic feet at the plus rated pressure.

To get 30cf you need 3442psi
This goes for ALL mfgrs?
These are the only tanks out of about 18-20 in my life, that have had "+" markings on them. Thank you.

Yes, it goes for all manufactures. A full fill is at the service pressure plus 10% for any cylinder with the plus rating.

Now the important question, do these cylinders have the REE number stamp on them? If so great, if not getting the plus rating may be problematic.

The other issue with these is they are HEAVY. Not really great for deco/BO use. I have a 40cf that came with a reg and it's not pleasant in the water.

yes ain't nobody saying their 3AA tanks with optional +s are smaller ever

yeah they are terrible deco tanks, but as a pony the 30cf is ok-ish. Assuming the pony would never get handed off cause the donor will be stupid light doing that.

Yes the REE # was stamped on them (17.7 I think?). I had them hydro'd 4 months ago, but I didn't know to ask for the "+" stamp. The hydro guy is only 12 miles from my house, and I don't see any reason he wouldn't give them a quick "+" stamp if I go back, as long as he has his records of the results 4 months ago?

I fill my own tanks anyway with a small 3.5 CFM Coltri compressor, and although it will pump to 4500 psi, the thread-on/spin-on pressure relief is a 3500. and since 14 of my tanks are 3442, I've got to keep them cool while filling otherwise will cool down to less and need to be topped off.
Thanks for the reassurance.

One usually should "note" that they are plus rated when sent in for requalification. Then check when you get them back. With the records they can make the calculation and add the "+." I have had to do that from time to time.

Speaking of which I need to visit my local requalifier. I ran out of CO2 for my beer. And that cylinder is out date.
