nah, it's no good------:),......use my Mk 10/G200 regs(from '88) to this day as my primary set.....

They make the Lighting Jet fin, black skirt frameless mask and simple bottom timer, which I might guess is the most popular fin, mask and depth gauge/timer on SB.........

That's right, since only less than 5% of SB members use a bottom timer, 2.5% of SB using that combo would be a majority of those using that combo.....:rofl3:

Most of my gear is Scubapro and I think it's excellent equipment. The warranty alone is worth the extra cost. You're lucky to have an uncle like that. Mine gave me a Flashlight, not a divelight, a flashlight.

im new to diving im going to get certified in march. and my uncle was going to give me his scubapro bcd. i wanted to know if its a piece of crap because i never heard of the brand before or its a good brand. thank you.

Scotty,
It is extremely unlikely that you will get very far into diving before you hear the name Scubapro. They are one of the 2 largest scuba manufacturer/marketers in the world. The other being the Aqualung companies. While Scubapro seems to market most of their lines (regulators, bc's, wetsuits, etc) under that name, Aqualung uses several brand names--Aqualung, Apeks, Seaquest, Deep See, etc. Truth be told, it would be very difficult to buy "bad" gear from either of these manufacturers.

I’m the happy owner of a Scubapro BCD which is 11 years old and that works fine so I don’t think you should have any concerns with regards to the quality; however do have it serviced before you enter the water. I also have a Scubapro regulator which I’m happy with.

They have great gear. I dont have a scubapro bc, I have a diverite backplate and oms harness. All my other gear is scubapro tho and I love it. like other posters have said, their warrenty is great for original owners. My regs get serviced every year and the parts are free for life, can't get much better then that.
Get the BC checked by a certified equipment specialist, as you want to make sure the bladder is in optimal condition.

I swear by Scubapro. 90% of my gear setup is SP (and that's after owning/using other brands and having issues) and I've never had a problem with service or warranty. It is true though that you'll have less issues as far as service and warranty goes if you're the original owner but when it comes to a BCD you shouldn't have issues. And yes, it's a good idea to have a Scubapro dealer take a look at it first.

Happy diving!

I have a Scuba-pro nighthawk& classic sport bc,I hung them both up for a BP/w . don't get me wrong it was just mort pratical for me to have the BP/w. I also have the Alladin prime console,Nice piece of equipement. .I have 150 dives on it, and have not had to chang the Battery as of yet. I ma getting the LUNA wrist computer from IVS scuba.in Pennsylvania, great shop, and prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ask for Bev she will take gret care of you.

I dove Scuba Pro regulators from 1979 to 2001 and never had a single failure that was not my own fault. I’ve never been real crazy about there BCs but that is just a personal choice. There is certainly nothing wrong with them.
