I just got back from Cabo Nov. 26, 2010 and all is fine that far south. As for Loreto you should be fine too. As with all vacations dont do something there you wouldnt do at home. The violence is along the border mainly. This time we were two girls travelling, instead of me and my husband and we were just fine. We also didn't hit the bars at nite, we were diving so stayed around the resort other than daytimes. Cheers and have fun!!!

Hello from Cabo.I lived in Mexico for 20 years 15 in Cabo and 5 in Ensenada.I have never had any problems. You stay away from Drugs you wont have any problems. Its the same anywhere you live or Travel if you want trouble you can find it anywhere. There are more Guns in the hands of criminals in the U.S. Than any where in the world and more Drug related Deaths as well. The American news papers and television stations Blast every single case in Mexico while on the outher hand not reporting what happens on the U.S. Side.We all know this is to keep the Tourest Dollars in the U.S.
Just in case anyone does not know about lobbing in Washington the Tourest Industry in the U.S. spends Big Bucks to make sure The Tourest Industry in The U.S. gets the Big slice of the Pie.
So dont be a Pussy go out and enjoy the world.
P.S. There are no Gun Carrying Fish that I know of.
