Tim,
After you get checked, if it turns out NOT to be DCI...

I noticed you were born in 1963.
Welcome to the 40's.

H2Andy:
"If symptoms persist tomorrow a.m. I will call the morning dives and head into San Miguel for a checkup."

you are aware that the longer you wait the worse the problem gets? is it possible for you to check with an emergency room immediately?

Well, it's been over 22 hours since his question, so by now - he's better or worse? At the time, I was once of those who encouraged him to go for a medical consultation - in person or by phone; waiting until the next morning might have been the dangerous choice.

I don't know his computer? "My Suunto is verrry conservative..." but his diving sounded pretty agressive. Also don't know if he may have been at Carlos & Charlies the night before, if he was well hydrated while diving, etc?

At my age, a sore shoulder is a day to day thing - especially with those tough mattresses in Cozumel, but if I'd done those dives...

Profile: 1st day: Max. Depth 105 feet, duration 75 minutes. Relatively conservative profile. Suunto Fusion cleared at safety stop. 2nd dive: Max. Depth 85 feet, duration 70 minutes. Suunto cleared after five minute safety stop. 2nd day: Max Depth 105 feet, duration 70 minutes Suunto cleared at beginning of safety stop. 2nd dive: Max Depth 80 feet, duration 65 minutes, Suunto cleared prior to beginning safety stop.

...then ached, I think I'd called DAN really fast. I am not a medical professional, and I appreciate that I can consult with one from time to time.

Hey, tim - let us know how you're feeling, will ya'? Hope you're well and having fun in Paradise...!

It was a Type 1 DCS. I rode the chamber here in San Miguel. US Naval Table 6 for five and 1/2 hours. Feel much better. Will be re-evaluated tomorrow morning. I was not at Carlos n Charlies. I was well hydrated. I did not exercise before, during or after. I was not any more agreesive than anyone else in my dive groups. I always felt sorry for the poor fools who reported a dive related problem and then got beat up and second guessed by anyone and everyone on the Board. I guess its my turn.

Happy to be alive and well in Cozumel.

Glad you're well, Tim!

Didn't mean to "beat you up," though. Just wondering outloud...?

Wonder if Nitrox and longer Safety Stops will help prevent this? Would like to learn from you experience, as I wouldn't want to repeat it...!!

glad to hear you're ok, Tim. i had a friend who waited much to long to go into
the chamber and things got messy.

sounds like you had unexpected DCS, but thankfully, mild.

god must like lawyers after all

So glad you're feeling better!!!!!!!!
When you feel like it, give us some more detail on your whole experience (what the docs said, the chamber, etc). And I wanted to ask, were you hydrated?
Also, what will do different or modify in your future diving?

Glad to hear that you are feeling better and hopefully it looks like the problem is now resolved as i said before i thinkk should apply to everyone ....if you are in any doubt go get it checked

It is the morning after the chamber ride. I feel 95 % better. I have to go for a follow up. I will post more details later. For the record the doctor is recommending: 1) wait six months to dive again; 2) get nitrox certified and dive air tables; and 3) if you get hit again, quit diving. I'll post a full report when I have more time.
