no, they are not the same thing.
you get a lift to the nearest chamber anywhere, even within 50 miles from home,
but the emergency has to be dive-related. this is part of your
plain-vanilla DAN Dive Insurance. See page 25 (Eligible Charges)
of the Benefits Handbook:

ok... now for DAN TravelAssist. if you are MORE than 50 miles from home,
you get additional benefits (called DAN TravelAssist), which include medical
transportation for non-dive related issues as well:

there is an issue here, which i have not been able to settle:
if you are MORE than 50 miles from home, you seem to
have to clear air or water ambulance transportation with
DAN TravelAssist. see page 26 of DAN's Benefits Handbook.
