I use a size 10 shoe and have fairly wide feet. I use 5mm ScubaPro booties with a thick slipper-like sole. Fits well in XL Slipstreams.

XL slipstreams w/ spring straps. Size 10.5-11 foot, wearing size 11 Aqualung Koral King 5mm boots (thick sole) fits really nice!

There isn't a 5mm boot listed on Akonas product pages.
Just 2/3.5/6mm

Akona Boots

Dang, must be the 3.5 then. I disticntly remember seeing a five in there somewhere. They are well worn. :D Still awesome fins!

I was just happy to find some fins that fit my big arsed feet,I have some turtles but they are too floppy for me after diving jets for so long.

I tried the Sunsoft Searays again (which are.... fantastic dive warm water dive shoes). It seems storing the slipstreams in a hot attic might have softened the foot pockets. Looks like I get a snug fit that doesn't have bite now but I'll have to order a size larger spring straps to accommodate them.

FYI, I did take the advice about trying my LDS and trying different boots. Seems my LDS only carries Deep See 5mm boots with nearly flat soles (I get the hotdog thrown down the hallway effect with those and the Slipstreams). I guess that's what you would expect for the only dive shop in a scuba wasteland like Memphis though.

FWIW, I wear size ML (9/10) 5mm Scubapro molded boots and the XL Slipstreams are a perfect fit.

I wish I could say the same thing for my XL Jetfins.

I have used both Scuba Pro and Pinnacle wet boots with comfort in the Slipstreams - think the booties are 5 mil, size 9.

Damn, I feel for ya, and that's a bummer. That is a funny description tho'! :D

I recently got a drysuit and use Converse Chuck Taylor size 10 boot with Slipstreams XL size. Maybe I have thick feet, I find that the fin pocket is a bit small, I feel squeeze on the top of my feet, but it's a bit loose on both size. I did try to put my feet inner but failed to do that. Now I am thinking if I should change the fins or buy another pair of boots.....

It seems the fin pocket is large enough, just somehow the shape of the pocket doesn't fit my foot.

Anyone got the height tight issue and any solution? Thanks in advance.

I wear size 11 CT's in XL Slips so it can be done. I've heard of people taking the insoles out of the CT's to alleviate the problem you're describing.
