I haven't been to Bonaire for about 8 years and have a trip planned for 3 weeks, leaving the middle of June. I plan to fly United out of Milwaukee with layover in Houston as I did many years ago, but I am shocked that the prices are still so high. I check daily and it has come down some, but right now less than 2 months out, tickets are still over $1,000 each.

Since I haven't bought tickets to Bonaire in over eight years, I am wondering if I should just lock in and get my tickets at this price or wait for them to drop.

Does anybody have any idea of prices usually get much lower? I don't really want to wait too much longer. I already have my accommodations booked.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I think it is pretty pricey. What dates are you looking at? I flew to Bonaire last June, and I think I paid about $600.

I'd take that beating in return for the few million he will receive in damages!

Check on Tuesday mornings and clear your cache each night before surfing for fares again! You can also play the one way game...works for me going to Europe...buy RT to Houston...and then RT to BON. You can vary the first leg to other hubs....like EWR...CHI....or possibly even MIA or MCO?

My RT from JFK to LJU ran me $800.00 compared to direct on !ufthansa for $1700.00 and the flights are on the exact same flights! JFK to Frankfurt RT then Fra to LJU RT.

They ran a fare sale last year in May I think. Prices are still usually in the $800 range via Houston. I booked with miles 338 days in advance to get decent connections using 55,000 miles. Still involves an overnight in Houston, but for $68 , I'm not complaining...was able to get a straight shot back to Houston with the Sunday departure from Bonaire.

Any chance you can get to Atlanta? We're flying Delta in July and I seem to remember it was upper $600s per ticket.

If only. The lowest fare I have seen for the ATL-BON flight is around $850. There is some fluctuation, but it's usually upwards from there, not downwards. Upper $600s would have to be some kind of sale price.

I haven't made a trip to Bonaire since July 2015, when I started looking early Jan 2016 the prices had gone from around $600ish to around $800ish with less options on flights it feels like. I've just went to the Caymans, Belize instead.....hoping the airline prices start to drop as I'd like to go again later this year. If not I'll probably just head to Little Cayman for the week.

Thanks for all of the help. The delta flight only has about 45 minute connection time in Altanta and I am not comfortable with that. I am looking at June 17 - July 9 (3 weeks in Bonaire ... I can't wait!!).

I will try the "trick" of Tuesday morning and clearing my cache.

Thanks again!
