What: Proximity alarm
Why: To alert you when your dive buddy goes beyond ___ ft.

The problem occurs when utilizing the "you lead, I'll follow" routine, you fall behind the leader because of the pretty fishies. An alarm beeps alerting your buddy to turn around and check on you. :1poke:

What do you think?

A huge elastic band. If he get's too far out... the band jolts him back.

No need for a technology application to the issue of a diver not paying attention....seriously

Sounds like a better buddy would be easier.

I think underwater wireless coms are notoriously unreliable.

How about a shock collar??? With a remote hmmmm.

A string?

There was someone here that had a thread about this a while back. They had developed a wrist device that did the same thing you are describing.

How bout an old invention... a Buddy Line....:eyebrow:
