Totally excited about the bottom timer. I was looking for a new one, and here it is. It is true what they say: 'if you are looking for a bottom timer, then there is a bottom timer looking for you'. Can't wait for the dealers to get them in.

Doug,

Is the GF user definable on the Xeo?

Mike

The depth avg feature is resettable, but will each reset be logged in the computer and downloadable?

We understand that the battery is user replaceable. But what type of battery for each of these units?

I just got an e-mail from Liquivision, here is the information they've provided;

"The Xen uses a single, specialized, disposable cylindrical
> lithium battery. One battery will give you over 100 hours of dive time on low
> brightness and around 65-70 hours on medium brightness. It depends somewhat on
> the colours you select. The battery is ER14335M and has 3.6 voltage. it is 2/3
> an AA battery.
>
> The amount of time this battery lasts for is based on the ones that we sell.
> This amount of time cannot be promised with other similar batteries if not
> purchased from Liquivision."

What is the price of the battery and when will it be available from Liquivision? So far I haven't seen any mention about the battery on the Liquivision website or any of the websites that sell the unit.

You won't get very far searching for "ER14335M." But if you google "14335" or "2/3 AA" you can find listings for what may be the appropriate 3.6V lithium cells for sale at various outlets:

Primary Lithium thionyl chloride Battery 2/3AA Size 3.6V 1650 mAh (ER14335)

Tadiran 3.6 Volt, 1450 mAh, 2/3 AA Lithium Battery: BatteryMart.com
BATT LITH 2/3 AA 3.6V CYL - TLH-5955/S
3.6v 2/3AA Lithium Thionyl Chloride battery from XENO at BatteryPrice

Seems to range from $3-15 per battery. No idea if these are exactly the right cells (and some have solder tabs, may not have precisely the right button-top heights, etc.), but it seems to be a solid lead. According to Batteryspace (you have to look under "Dog collar batteries" and not Lithium cells), the higher capacity 1650mAh cells are $2.45 individually. Furthermore, they state that their ER14335 "Can replace 2/3AA size batteries such as: Tadiran TL-2155, Tadiran TL-4955, Tadiran TL-5155, Tadiran TL-5955, Sonnenschein SL-361/S, Sonnenschein SL-761/S, Minamoto ER14335, Xeno XL-055F" which should provide further leads if you want to search for more comparable prices/cells.

$2.45 per cell is a downright pittance, assuming it's the right cell. IMO, even at the high priced end, a $15 battery replacement every every 6-12 months seems like a totally reasonable cost easily lost in the noise of other consumable expenses related to scuba.
