International travel

I haven't tried to travel internationally with a spearfun since 9/11. A friend in indonesia has asked me to bring my Riffe 56" when I come next week. What can I expect when I show up at LAX with a bag that obviously carries some sort of gun? How will the "wary of terrorists" Balinese customs respond to my speargun when I arrive there? I guess carry-on is out of the question.

i would suggest taking the barb off the spear oviously and putting the gun itself in a bag and the barb tip in a different bag and the spear itself in a bag but as long as its disasembled u should be fine but carry on is a no no unless u wanna spend ur vacation in jail but i think u should be fine mate
