I just bought a Halcyon AL backplate and harness and I'm looking for an integrated weight system to go with it. I know Halcyon makes one and without a doubt they're really good. But, what would be the other brands worth looking at, that are not as expensive as Halcyon? Thanks.

You can get a couple of the Dive Rite pockets that will hold up to about 6# each.

They run about $20 each.

Is there some particular reason why a regular weightbelt won't work for you?

I really like my integrated weight system of 2 XS scuba pockets. You can find them for about 8-10 bucks, and the slide right on the harness waist strap. I use a triglide to keep them in place. They do only hold about 5 pounds each, for a total of 10 pounds.

A stainless steel plate would have been intergrated weight  How much weight do you need?

Diverite makes some pockets but they rely on velcro to hold the weight in. :shakehead Never seen them attached to a BP.

Zeagle makes some weight pouches that attach to your backplate. I've never tried them though, so I don't know if they are any good or not.

Thanks for the information, I'll checkout XS Scuba, DR and Zeagle pockets.

@DIR-Atlanta: Its more of a preference than anything and I would much prefer if I have the option of ditching one weight pocket at a time.

@rjack321: For warm water diving, the weighted tank adapter would suffice, but drysuit diving, I still have to get a stainless backplate and another 8 more lbs for the pockets.

I bought two choke tube pouches at Walmart made of nylon with the loops attached that slide onto the harness perfectly. Only cost $13 for the pair and hold up to 9# of lead shot each.
