When using an integrated weight BC with two weight pockets. If the only available weight satchets make an uneven number when reaching your desired weight (e.g.: you want 5kg(11pounds) and only 1kg(2.2pound) weights are available), where do you put the one extra satchel?

Options I can imagine:
- Wearing a one weight belt. Inconvenient, but acceptable.
- Buying some kind of strap that allows attaching that one weight to the tank. Might even help with balancing my weight distribution
- Adding an extra weight to make it even and just live with it.
- Removing the extra weight. Unexperienced divers usually overweight ourselves, right?

1. Make 2x small moulds. Playdoh or clay will work.

2. Melt down a 1kg. Lead melts easily on the stovetop. Just be prepared to sacrifice an old saucepan. (obvious warning about hot/molten lead!)

3.Split it into 2x 1/2 kg block. Split melted lead equally between 2 moulds. Allow 30 mins for it to cool.

That will work or an easier method I use when wanting smaller weight amounts is to use 8 oz (225 gram) fishing sinkers. I am sure fishing sinkers are sold worldwide although finding the larger ones may be easier near the ocean.

String the odd weight through your Tank strap. Or buy a weight pouch to string onto your tank strap.
The latter is a better method since it doesn't take up a ton of strapping, which might be a problem if you're using a fat tank.

Personally I always like having some weight on my person and some on my BC. If you have a weightbelt just use that and save your money.

I just go uneven. Not that big of a deal unless it is more then 2 pounds. Even then, take a dive to swim on your side, it's fun!

Being slightly off balance will not matter.

I like the idea of strapping a good chunk of your weight to your tank however you want to do that. I would do at least a third or more. Not all your weight needs to be ditchable. In fact maybe none needs to be ditchable, but that is a different conversation.

I think I would just go with slightly less weight until it was even if I had to. You can always kick your way down till your wetsuit compresses, right?
