My current life ins policy has exclusions for the scary dangerous and deadly sport of SCUBA diving!

Is there a diver friendly ins company out there that that gives a death benefit greater than $25K?

I found Dive Assure and Vicencia
They only provide $25K and $15K.

Thanks

yup, you are correct.

the max DAN life insurance is $225,000 ($200,000 max on the policy plus a
$25,000 "bonus" if you die diving). This is what I have. It's only about $180.00
every six months. They have lesser levels, of course.

You have to be a member, though.

Dunno about PADI.

These really are the only choices I know of.

Good Luck and DSAO

Well the last word on this looks like DAN and PADI (Vicencia Ins) both have pretty similar coverage for DEATH benefits. ($25-15K for permium under $200)

EXCEPT . . . . DAN has Group Term which you can get up to $200,000 for about $250 semi-annually.

Thanks guys,

Try www.zanderins.com term life. Tell them you are a diver and they will find the insurance companies at various guaranteed rates up to 30 years. I believer that you can get term up to at least 1 million. The diver part usually cost a few dollars extra per month/year over just regular term.

Ah, that reminds me... just renewed my DAN insurance...

$100 a year sure goes a long way

Preferred plan....

 I was under the impression that so long we are not PROFESSIONAL Diver, most insurance will still cover (Disclaimer : I'm not in the Life insurance biz , so I may be wrong :sorry19z: ) :33: Oh man..I got to go read my life policy now :34: Though I'm only a recreational diver :tongue2:

...as I just applied for a "term life" policy that will pay off the farm, if I "buy the farm", so to speak. We had a long talk with the agent, and when I told him that I dive, he kind of raised his eyebrows. Then he sent the gal in to take height and weight and blood samples and such. The next day, I got a call from the underwriter who asked me long and detailed questions about my diving. How many dives in the last year? How many deeper than 25 feet? How many deeper than 50 feet? How many deeper than 100 feet? Have I ever dived deeper than 100 feet? Do I dive in fresh or salt water. How many dives would I make next year? Who was the certifying agency? A whole list of stuff. At my age (49) term insurance is getting a little bit pricey, so if this kicks the cost of the premium up, I'll probably tell them to forget it...

I guess as a well trained, safe diver, I'm considered to be a high risk????
