I'm heading off to Fiji next month to try and find instructor work. I'm wondering if anyone
- knows how easy it will be to find a job
- has any recommendations about which islands/dive shops I should try
- knows of any available jobs or people I should contact
- has any other advice as I've never been there before

Thanks!

Better plan on it just being a vacation and then consider yourself lucky if you find work.

I know an instructor who was working in Thailand when the bombing occurred in Bali and he said 1 week later virtually every instructor was twiddling their thumbs. He stuck around for about 2 months of no or little work (had been very busy prior to the bombing) before he left. Don't know if the entire Bali thing affected Fiji or not since it is not a primarily muslim country.

You might want to spend a few hours of internet time contacting resorts to see what the hiring opportunities are before you go out.

good luck

Steve
