Interesting law tidbit... However, the criteria number 4 would negate stupidity in judgement of the rescuer if he ended up in the decompression chamber.
Only if he could have rescued the victim without ending up in the recompression chamber. If it is foreseable that someone might get the bends rescuing you because you knowinging risk your own life, you may wind up paying your rescuers medical bills. It's not unreasonable for a person to put himself at the risk of DCI to save another person's life.
