Tried em out. Bought new rubber straps for em. They fit nice and secure.

Granted, they were fast, but i hate to admit that it took a lot more force to use em than my previous fins. started feeling some muscles in my calf and foot that I never knew existed :D

But I like em :D the true test will be out in the sea in a current. I'm sticking with em

Hmmm... gives me a whole new appreciation of my wife's legs... um...

Congrats on your new fins! Here's mine:

The graphites are about 50% stiffer than the regular planas. Because the fin moves all the water immediately, not "ramping up" the load like lots of modern fins, most folks immediately dismiss them as too hard to kick.

For going in a straight line fast there are definitely better choices, like the Quattros. But, these are my hands-down first choice for any diving involving precision, or lots of frog kicking, or (especially) power. When a friend was having issues learning a back kick, I gave him these, and he immediately began moving backwards.

Not sure about the Power Planas, but the graphites definitely sink.

Have fun!

All the best, James

The regular power planas apparently sink too :D

I was in the shallow end of the pool taking them off by stepping on the blades, and I noticed they didn't float up. D-oh!

hey I have a pair! I got them from a friend that dove a wile ago and wanted to pass some of his gear on. they worked great needed to use a lot of force but worked. I bought the mares volos as an upgrade, nice jump from old to new.

Well, to update:

I've gone on 10 ocean dives with them, and they're great!

More power and precision! I can even do a half-decent back-kick in them (well, at least I get moving backwards with little ankle movements...)

Here they are, back where they belong: Underwater!

I have the Power Plana Graphite full foot fins. They are my warm water fins of choice. Powerfull and fast and light. If I am not using my UDTs or my Super Jets then it is the Plana Graphites. I like them for diving from a boat--no boots needed.
