I don't know who is worse about self-treating - me or physicians. Probly me, but it sounded like that's what you did before you got home, then - went to your associate who may not be experienced in the area of water born infections instead of DAN, Duke, UofW, a specialist, etc for better advice. Sorry if I was too blunt, but then I do hope I may have helped encourage you toward a better approach. I do know we lose all too many to water born infections - not to be taken lightly. I know a farmer who almost died of tetanus once from a "tail water" acquired infection as the local doctors just had never seen tetanus before - or so his story goes. I think farmers tend to have a natural resistance to that one from frequent exposure, but I guess his failed.
