Ok I am signing up for commercial diver school because of all the various certifications you get. But I dont know if you are also a certified scuba diver. Or even after getting my commercial diver certificates should I still go to a dive shop and get the Padi certificate? I love to be in the water and want to learn as much as possible about diving. commercial, scuba, scientific, I want to learn about all of them.

I went to school there in '75 and dove commercially for 32yrs. Big John Manlove who used to own the school still knows me. I talked to Him two months ago at DIT. He wanted me to come to work there.
You will get a Scuba card there also. Some of the Instructors have PADI others SSI still others with differnent certs as instructors in SCUBA. The School mostly sends students to the Off-shore Oil Companies but other diver as myself, went into the diving in the local area. You will get more dive jobs away from Seattle, but the Most Paid AIR divers are here in Seattle (Union).
When You get into the school, I'll help You out with a few things. Just 'mail me after You get into class..........Bill

Thank you Bill. My name is Mike by the way. Are you pretty much forced to work off shore after school or is it possible to get an inland job. It would be nice to work in Seattle, ballard or else where...but I have read that the opportunities inland for New tenders are infrequent if just not rare. I have no preconcieved notions or any or any romanticized ecpectations of this job. I need a change in my stangnant post divorce life..heheh. So the idea of being lowered down 24 inch pipes or swimming in sewage or even just tending for awhile..it doesnt bother me. And thanks bill I will mail you once I get into class.

Hello Mike,
welcome (Scub)aBoard! :balloon
