.....and your Insurance Company insisted on paying for two replacement BP/W rigs, one for tropical diving and one for cold water diving - what rigs would you choose? Would they be the same manufacturer or two different?

SS BP with oxycheq extreme doubles wing for cold. Oxy soft backplate and 17lb wing for tropical.

APEKS's, SS BP with 1 piece harness and WTXR60 twin bladder, for the cold water.

For Tropical, same as I have now. IST BP and APEKS WTX3 bladder.

Honestly, I'd probably buy one Express Tech and then another salvo ss plate and the DRIS Dive Gear 28 pound Trianta wing. For a harness, I'd just make another one from the webbing I bought the first go round. I would prefer a smaller wing if I could find a 20 pound lift at a good price.

what rigs would you choose?

I would replace my rig with the rig that was hypothetically stolen (ie: what I dive now)

- Halycyon steel BP
- 30lb Eclipse wing for tropical/single tank diving
- 60lb Evolve wing for steel doubles

If the insurance company demanded to pay for two FULL rigs, I'd also add a Halcyon aluminum plate, but for the most part I use the steel one all the time. Aluminum really only needed when diving heavy doubles in warmer, fresh water.

I would tell the insurance company that they are being unreasonable and they can pay for only one BCD and pass on their savings to their customers in the form of lower rates for everyone.

DSS single and double tank rigs like I have now or HOG singles and doubles set ups. Depended on who had the best deal and would save me the most money. Then take the difference and get a new HOG reg.

Same as I have now, Halcyon Eclipse and Evolve, with a SS plate if I could only have one.
