I found a LDS that is still selling the IDI version of the XS Scuba reg. What do you guys think? I am new to diving and not sure if I should go for the "name brand" XS version or the "old" out of business IDI version... They're supposed to be the same internally and functionally, but slightly different cosmetically?

Any thoughts/help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Time is of the essence!

XS bought IDI and the regs are the same. Ask if they will honor the warranty and if they will save a few dollars and get the cheaper one. Have a couple IDI Trimetals and they breath great.

If that is your decision I would easily go with the more current model. The companies are in fact the same product however the name and people running it have changed.
