I was thinking about upcoming Wrinkles Dive's and the different locations we could dive at. What do you all think about a weekend dive boat an/or just a day boat trip? I see that the Bottom Scratcher has a 2 day dive trip to the backside of Catalina for $195. in Feb. Would anyone be interested in something like that?

YAY! A Wrinkles Boat dive! We havent had one of those since last June !! When in February?? I would certainly join in the fun...

Here is the information that I found on their website:

Come dive aboard the Bottom Scratcher and have a great time. Unlimited diving, with all food and airfills included. A Steak Bar-B-Q with all the trimmings onshore, at the Isthmus on Saturday night.

This is a great time to bring a non-diving friend or partner to enjoy the ocean and just relax while you go diving!

No Crowds, Magnificent Visibility, Great Food and a Good Time for All!
· All Food Included

· Airfills Included

· Steak Bar-B-Q onshore at the Isthmus

· Dive as much as you can

· Destination Backside Catalina, weather permitting
$195.00

Now THATS what I am talking about!! Nothing beats boat diving. With the exception of Casino Point, I have yet to go on a beach dive that had more than 15 ft of vis. No breaking surf to deal with and no spending 2 hours rinsing sand out of your gear! I vote for the Peace or Pacific Star. If we can get a bunch of people together, I know Captain Dave of the Pacific Star will cut us a deal.

By the way, while I have not been on it, I have not heard too many good things about the bottom scratcher. I heard it is very flithy and the smell in the heads will make you want to puke.

Bottom Scratcher? ew. Of all the boats on the sea...

Why not make the Feb 05 dive the Avalon Clean up? Maybe we can plan on diving on a real dive boat another time?

Just a thought.

Wow, you need to drive down here more often. Divebuddysean and Krowsea will stand behind many a solid 25-35 days this summer. But yeah, ya just can't beat boat dives. Did 7 days on the Pilot off the coast of the Bahamas and did 5 dives a day for 6 days. Happily exhausting.

I have been on the boat and had a great time. I don't recall
the head smelling.

Anne Marie, how about a poll to pick dive boats in Feb? With picking multiple
days everyone can pick ALL the boats they could possibly attend
instead of just one boat. So we'd select the one that works best for the most
people. If you don't like the boat, don't select it.

What do you think?

Yeah David. That day at Laguna was the worst vis I'd seen there all month. Actually, the next day was much better.

I'll need to break down and go out on a boat dive.

So, I'd be up for a dive on a good boat. The clean up might be a better option for February though.

I also like the Pacific Star but we will have to find out if its available.

We could also bump this up to January if we can find a weekend the boat is available.
