Only problem would be me turning the dives with you two on Megs....
Open circuit stinks...

Talk to you soon amigo.
Andrew

Two weeks from now I'll be diving OC for the first time in 2.5 years. The Megs aren't make the trip to the BVI.

Assuming I remember how to dive OC I suppose I could always do it in cave country.............well maybe on bailout. :)

We just gotta get you off the SCR and onto something a little more robust.

Take Care,
Joe D

Andrew, I was at CSSP almost all day....few folks and 3-4 classes. If you stayed clear of the classes vis was 15-20ft. at times and 5-10ft at other points, and the schools of large bass and catfish were everywhere, one of the best days I have spent there. Water temps in the 60's. I am a LONG way from CCR so I am still loving the OC. Practiced 'travel bottle' tech today. I will drop you a PM next time I hit a water hole that is close....NASCAR weekend left Murry out for me. Say HI to your fine family! A vacation does sound fun and I am sure you have earned one. :)

Hate to say this but this current design for the counterlung hoses is nuts for sidemount units.
There is alot easier way to do this and make it so much more darn streamlined.
Then again... I am just a diver. :D

Oh, the O2 sphere in the bottom of that rig is rare as hens teeth.
The MK15 spheres were made by Taveco in California and were in a limited run for the US Navy. Current costs are over $1,500.00 each and that is what people are paying (market price for used units.)

That's why we need a Meg canister strapped to the side, counterlungs attached down both sides and then custom hoses. Not like I have thought about this.... :rofl3:

We wont get into my idea of dual meg canister on each side sharing the counterlungs for proper bailout.
In a worst case scenario the unit would be able to be run off a single counterlung collapsing into a single system.
(man, these vision make my head hurt.)

Nice to see what Jacob has been up to at Golem.

I agree that the design is sub-optimal but it was an interesting post.

He's not using the MK15 spheres but rather the Drager shpere.

He's actually building on Bill Gambrills design.

OK, I have officially lost track of this thread. I am so darned lost right now. Let me come back tomorrow and try again.
