Hey all,

I am a new diver (certified in late July) with about 10 dives under my belt. Now that the weather has been too cool to actually go diving, I find myself wanting to wear my BC around the house since it is the closest thing I can get to actually diving. My girlfriend says I am probably the only person that does this. So come on, don't be shy...if you do this too, post it now!!

ummmm - nope :D

but what about checking out any local pools to see if you can get some skill time in

cheers :D

Youj might fit in here Dork Divers

Definitely a DorkDiver. Join the club.

My girlfriend says I am probably the only person that does this.
She's a smart girl. Try to hold on to her--put the BC away.:D

Depends on what type BC, is it a jacket or wing? On second thought, yes you probably are the only one.:rofl3: You really should consider Dork Divers!:rofl3::rofl3:

I didn't think the water around Milwaukee was ever very warm. Anyway, you should be able to find a couple of local hard-core divers that get wet every weekend around there to buddy up with. All you need is a 2-piece 7mm wetsuit.

In the Toronto area, there are divers diving in Humber Bay in Lake Ontario pretty much up to January 1. The temp in there today was reported at 45F.

I have worn my bc around the house more times than I am willing to admit. I've worn my wetsuit in the shower. I've brought new gear to family functions, so I could show people that really don't care. I've "tested" regulators in a hot tub after one too many absolut ruby red with ocean spray cran-grape drinks. And last but not least, I've definitely brought full scuba gear to a pool party.

.... I've definitely brought full scuba gear to a pool party.

Who has not done that!

At least you're not in your wetsuit and tank. Actually, if you did this you could use the time to practice your skills. If you put on enough gear you can:

OOA in the bathroom
run line up the hallway stairs
kill the lights and simulate a silt-out.

Who says you need a pool for confined training.

Sounds pretty fun to me!

ps. Am I in the Dork Diver forum?
