But it seems as though I haven’t had the good luck that many of you have had dealing with Allan at Underwater Digital. Last Wednesday I left Allan a phone message about purchasing a PT010 housing for my Oly. He didn’t get back to me on Thursday so I purchased it online from his website. I left him another message shortly after I saw that the paypal payment had been received. This time I wanted to add a strobe to my order but needed to know when it might ship. Still no answer. Tried again on Friday. Same result. Thinking that I’m being impatient I waited until Monday evening to leave another message and an email. Still no response. It’s to late to get a credit from Paypal, the payment was accepted last Thursday. I understand that Allan may be traveling and that its only been just under a week, but in this day and age of high technology, messages (both phone and email) can be retrieved from almost anywhere. If you’re where you can’t pick up messages then leave that as a message on your answering service.

We leave in two weeks for FP and I wanted to get a few days of orientation with a new system before leaving. That may still be possible, but it would be nice to get a call back and find out when and if my order is being shipped.

I’m sure that Underwater Digital is a good company otherwise they would not have received all of the glowing praise that many of you have given them. I guess that the lesson learned is if you’re under a time constraint you shouldn’t buy on the web, where shipping dates and order confirmations are not readily available

I'm one of those who highly recommend Underwater Digital. I would think if Allan was going to be out of the office for several days, he'd have a way of staying in touch.

Let's hope he gets back with us with his side.

BTW Bacchus....I appreciate the tone of your post. A thorough explanation of your side, a reasonable question, and no trashing of an online business. Thanks.

I just spoke with Allan at U/W Digital. He seems like a very likable guy. He was, in fact, on a trip and did not receive my messages. I found his web site from a link left on the board. Unfortunately this link did not take me to his home page, where he had left a message that he would be gone until today!

With that said, I guess I could have been more diligent in searching and he could have left a message on his answering service saying he would be gone.

In the long run....no harm no foul.
