Thanks to everyone who sent suggestions. Just to let you know what I (we) ended up doing yesterday:
We both took a vacation day and slept in late.
Late morning we went golfing followed by lunch, running a few errands etc.
Dinner was at a new steakhouse here in town, fairly nice place.
Then home for dessert (a key lime cheesecake we had purchased during the day)
Oh the gift, you want to know the gift....
Well since crystal is the suggestion for a 15 year anniversary I ended up purchasing a crystal perfume decanter for her.
