Been trying one of these Cressi Magnetic Octo Holders, swapped the plastic clip out for a bolt snap and so far have liked it. Has stayed in place really well and is easy to pull apart when needed.

The Scubapro model has worked very well for me when I dive with a traditional recreational reg setup.

When inserting the regulator, put it sideways into the opening of the clip then rotate it into position versus just trying to shove it straight in.

I have been struggling with my pony reg free flowing when I'm on my DPV and going into the current. I've tried several styles which cover the opening to the regulator, but they all allow the reg to slip out too easily. We back roll into the water, and I keep finding my pony reg not attached on descent. The one I use which doesn't cover the hole holds fine, but it doesn't cover the hole.

Thanks for this recommendation. It appears to have a solid hold and covers the orifice. I'll report back if it solves the two challenges I have, which are a sturdy but breakaway hold and covers the breathing hole in order to prevent free flows from current.
