Hi Guys,
My new toys should be here in a few days. I already have my Golem bp/w threaded up and ready to go.

I understand that my pressure gauge will be clipped to my left hip and my backup reg bungied under my neck.

So here is my question, does anyone have a picture of themselves showing the routing of the long hose?

Are there any short clips on the web I can watch of the long hose deployment?

Gear config: http://www.baue.org/images/galleries/equipment?&page=1

"Dressed for Success" from GUE is also a great resource to have around. https://secure.gue.com/catalog/order

There might be some free download vid clips available but I would recomend ordering the "Intro to Tech" DVD from 5thD-X. AG does a great job with the excellent demonstration and commentary. http://www.5thd-x.com/index2.html

IMO I would only use these resources as general information to familiarize yourself with the skills. For example you definately do not want to practice a skill incorrectly (building up muscle memory) because of misinterpretation from the DVD. Your fundies instructor will have fun breaking you down and building you back up correctly and you won't.

Leah, you're shameless (but you got my attention). However, as a solo diver I don't use a long hose configuration!

See Bill. If you used a long hose you'd be in a better position to put a bit of distance between yourself and yourself while you worked out any issues. :D

ahhhh Dr Bill, that has been one of my goals in life to get the attention of men! However, at 37 never having been married and only giving my mother 3 grandcats (she says they are not the same as children, I disagree) she would say I have not done a very good job!

I am going to call the YMCA where I swim to see if they will let me and my dive buddy play with my new gear int he pool in a couple of weeks. Before that I will just be walking around the house dreaming in the dry!

The link above with the pics was very helpful. Thanks

Christian, I guess you realize I am a Gemini and therefore probably could benefit from the long hose configuration!

Why, Leah... I would never toss a perfectly good woman in neoprene into the kelp and wander off! I'd want to watch and film the kelp monster capture her before I moved on.

No, Fred is up in Monterey. On Catalina they say watch out for Dr. Bill, especially on nights of the full moon! You'll understand what I mean if you get out here, or we meet on an SD trip!

Sorry to hijack your thread. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

Dr. Bill is the Don Juan/Rico Suave/Dr. with the mostest here in So Cal, Leah be careful of his moves. . . the man is a hypereducated love machine!

In the interim, Kev gave you a great site, let me offer:
