You can do that?! That's awesome. I used to live in Orlando and worked at Universal Studios. I visited the parks alot but I wasn't a diver at the time.

I've also heard people mention diving in Aquariums. I thought it was a special thing that a friend hooked them up with or something. Is this common? If it is, is there anyone in NC that knows if our Aquarium allows this?
Sure - for $140, including gear and T-shirt, I think it is. Check their web site. Don't think your home state has one that big, and they're certainly not into that kind of business. :lol2:

ABQdiver:
Have to admit so are we (like you couldn't tell). My wife and daughter were in DW this last month right before school starting and had to hide out from the Hurricane Frances. An interesting event for New Mexico residents. Anyway they brought back some new cast member pins that are from a series that include Mickey, Minnie, Donald and I believe Goofy all in diving gear. Daughter brought back a couple but the remainder were not found so far.

We are actually going to the Living Seas Dive Quest this next month for the first time. Should be a hoot!
I've been trying to find a T-shirt with ABQdivers Avatar, but there are too many Disney Ts to sort thru!

BTW, his daughter (whose name escapes me right now?) has her own dry suit. Quite a dad! :clement2:

When you get to Florida - let Grier or me or any of the South Florida Conch group know. We will be happy to take you out with us!

There has been a load of great advice here about weighting and bouyancy.

Here is a little trick I do with my students. Whenever I see them "swimming" I signal them to "twiddle their thumbs" Tuck your arms under you, lock your fingers together and twirl your thumbs around each other while looking ahead and letting your body and fins do the work. Forcing them to focus on a simple task that also streamlines them and keeps those hands from flailing around.
