Had an old British Seagull 3 hp years ago. Nice little engine, but used a 10:1 mix. You could lay down a smoke screen big enough to hide a Battleship. :D

Flea Dog

4 stroke suzuki and i also am in love

Yep, the E-TEC 90 is 1296cc. The Mercury EFI fourstroke 90 is 1596. About 25% larger. Now, with the breakthrough in lubricating the crank without wasting so much gas and oil, maybe the two stroke will make a glorious comback.

Ive had the same question about cars. Is it better to smog the heck out of them and burn more fuel or let them run a little dirty but burning much less fuel?????? I had a diesel Rabbit when I was young, 55 mpg and it would bark the tires in third gear, now the diesel Vdubs get 40ish and have much less preformance.
In my big boat I run a pair of two stroke diesel Jimmys, talk about noise.....
Counterexample: When I met my late wife, she had a '75 'vette. 20ish MPG. She later
traded it for an '87 'vette (still in the garage): 29MPG and a LOT more power.

One of these days Im going to drive by, see my dream vet 68-72 and buy it and I don't care what it's mpg is.....

I was told by a Vespa dealer this week, and don't ask why I was talking to a Vespa dealer, that all two stroke engines were being discontinued by law, and that it appiled to all engines, including small yard equipment.

This doesn't apply to existing inventories he said, if it's correct at all.

I think that is a state by state thing not nation wide, yet.

on the tv show Home Improvement Tim Allen had one of those non 2 stroke riding lawn mowers a 350 chevy with N.O.S on it. I think yard equipment will never fully go to 4 stroke. Now have you seen any 1950 -1960 vintage outboard motors out there I see alot of them 10 on the lake I live on. so that means there will be 2 strokes till 50 years from the last sale of them. I have a pontoon boat with a 4 stroke yamaha on it and it is quiet and great for a relaxing boat ride. For a dive boat I didnt have an extra 20k$ for the same so I have an older pontoon boat with a 2 stroke Johnson on it. and untill the motor dies a violent death (not sinking cause then I can recover the motor) I will continue to use a 2 stroke. Just my 2¢
