To all my buddies who had to do the "Duck Boat" exit/prayer, worry no more. I got a Maritime Skiff with bow/stern decks, center console, GPS, Fishfinder, electric bow motor, 60 HP outboard motor. All set for diving and flyfishing. I got to dive off it this Summer (bought it from my brother in law) and it's a dream :) I will likely be picking it up this Wednsday and "hope" to be diving off it Friday. No more ripping open brand new drysuits and wetsuits. Yippee!!!!!!!

I promise to post one once I get it. I'll be the one who's wearing a ripped and poorly repaired drysuit who is grinning from ear to ear :)

I had a Maitime for a few years (I've posted here about it), it was such a GREAT boat - we had the 16' rigged for fly fishing. It has such a wide beam.

I'm sure you are going to love it.

As you probably know, they were founded by the fomer president of Boston Whaler who wanted to make a better boat (whalers suck up water over the years for one).

Congrats again, theses boats really are the best of the best.

Congrats! I'm still amazed was able to get a dive in after you ripped it with that goop stuff. No more hematomas either from hitting cleats during back roll in. I'm up for going Fri if you are. I should be able to take Fri off.

You know how to reach me.

you saw how it ended up. My shop actually got pretty ticked that I even tried to fix it. They can't undo the damage I did. Hmmm... $1600 drysuit + 1 tube of Goop = irrevokably damaged suit. The upside is that it convinced my wonderful, lovely, beautiful wife that I HAD to get a better boat :)

I've been diving off a Maritime Skiff in the Cape Ann area for the past 2 years - it has been great! A nice boat - lot of room for diving and fishing gear. Enjoy!

Wow! that sucks.. Looking forward to seeing picture of boat.

Nice, we finally picked up a boat this year, but didn't get much diving in. Older boat, a 1968 Luhrs 27' w/the dive platform. Great room out back for dive gear, not like the newer boats that are all cabin space.
Lucked out when someone I know moved to NC. Traded a Jetski as partial payment
Can't wait to get out diving next year
