I decided to take u/w video on my last trip to the Cayman Islands. I was very happy with the results from my dji action 5 camera with 4k/30fps settings. I never considered the computer power needed to edit 4k video and I needed to update my card. I decided to try the Asus rtx 3060 with 12gb. I also upgraded my memory to 16gb ram, however I am not happy with the results and I am looking for a better alternative. I am considering the rtx 5060 8gb but I am worried about the lower vram. The card is definitely a better card for the money but will it be enough to help me with video editing?

Does your editing software support creating proxy media? That method creates low-res copies of the source that you use for the interactive editing part. Once you’ve made all of your cuts it uses the full res originals for the final render. You’re still going to have to let it grind on both the proxy creation and render but the interactive piece will be more responsive.
