I do it all three ways depending on what is going on during the dive. Moving it to the right hand temporarily is probably best, though. Good habit to get into.

yes, do all three, use the appropriate tool at the appropriate time.

generally what we see newer divers doing, though, is *always* doing the disco ball with either of the dumps or the inflator, and they need to focus on using the temporary park in the right hand more to learn it.

sort of the same thing with the rear dump vs. corrugated hose -- if you can't find the rear dump you should spend 50 or so dives using nothing but the rear dump until you get good at it -- but then move on and learn when its appropriate and when it isn't.
