I've been wanting to do it for awhile, but travel and a move to Japan almost a year ago have caused me to put it on the back burner.

My desire has increased again lately, since I've settled into my new work place.

I'll be deploying to Afghanistan again around August, I'll be there for about 3 months....it's a normal rotation for me.

When I return I will take a Fundamentals class.....for a variety of reasons, the main one is just to improve myself. And I'm looking for a fun and challenging course.

I know there is an instructor near Tokyo, but I'm not sure about what his class schedule looks like around Nov.-Dec. 2012.

I know of another instructor in Singapore, I'll have to look into his class schedule.

I'll have the time set aside for travel when I return, so I'm not too concerned about traveling. I'll probably lean toward this part of the world.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Mitch

Thanks Jim,

I appreciate it, I rotate with 3 other machinists in and out of there. I'll be on and off for however long we're there.
It's my privilege to go there.

It's warming up.....here's to a busy and profitable year to you Jim! :-)

v/r,
Mitch

Stay Safe in Afganistan.
On the instructors - Gideon in Singapore is on the GUE training council. I have heard great things about his classes and i'm sure he would have some insights.

Thank you for the recommendations.

I'm looking forward to planning my trip to take this class, I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun. ;-)
It's looking like I'm in a great part of the world for finding a great instructor.

Take care,
Mitch

Another person you might consider is Jacob Mellor in Thailand. Jacob's a relatively new Fundamentals instructor (got his cert about a year ago) but not by any means a new or inexperienced diver. He's also an absolute hoot . . . he's reduced me to helpless laughter on more than one occasion. I'm sure a class with him would be both useful and very entertaining.
