Hi,

I just wanted to know whether anyone knows if diving under medication for hypertension (high blood pressure) is in any way dangerous? I am on 5 mg Renitac.

thanks

Ajith

hello, i am on 50mg of Atenolol and 16mg of cardura xl (doxazosin mesilate) higher risk of fluid on the lungs with the drugs i am taking, check with doc first sum drugs can kill at depth .good luck

Check with your physician, if he's not dive savvy find one that is and or get DAN involved.

Have faith, pleny of us are in the same boat and are good to go. I assume that while medicated you are controlled.

From previous reading, the ACE inhibitors (of which enalapril is one) are generally considered safe for divers. But don't sue me.

Call DAN. Some classes of BP meds are OK for diving and some aren't.

If you're on the wrong kind, you may be able to switch.
