Hi everyone,

For a long time I have been very interested in becoming/volunteering as a safety diver for events like the Red Bull cliff diving competitions or freediving competitions. Does anyone know what avenues I would have to go down to achieve this? Whether it is training or contacts? I am currently an Padi/SDI instructor and TDI extended range diver. I also have 2 years experience as an Airfield Rescue Firefighter

Thanks!

I can't speak for those specific events, but Inam a rescue diver for American Powerboat Association hydro races and the requirements are just OW cert and a willingness to be very uncomfortable. Contact the safety team for the event and ask, but I doubt there will be any specialized requirements.

I would just like to see the 50page(?) liability release for both supports & participants that the organizer would make everyone sign.

It's only half a page. I can probably find a copy of the APBA one online.
