For what purpose? You're not gonna treat DCS with it.

Lots of health benefits from my limited knowledge of them. Just a slow night on the board so I thought I would share.

It's only 1.3 atm, 10 feet. Michael Jackson used to sleep in a hyperbaric unit, you could try that

With that line of thought, he can also rent it by the hour in the neighborhood and use the same Michael Jackson line :)

The firefighters in our town were happy about how the local Hyperbaric chamber has saved limbs by treating diabetics with non-healing leg sores. The sick person needed a visit once per week for a number of weeks, so I don't know if a person would want one in their urban home. In locations far from a hospital, it could help people, if manned by a trained technician.

I had a feeling there would be comments like this well meaning one. Most lay people do not know much about HBO therapy. Mono and multiplace hyperbaric units used for therapeutic purposes pressurize to 3 atm, 66 feet. As I pointed out, the Summit to Sea units pressurize to only 1.3 atm, 10 feet. Personally, I see this as a toy.

I did miss the note about the low pressure on the home unit, so I will offer this article for those interested in the diabetic wound care information. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy - About - Mayo Clinic

The original posters link to a Craigslist home unit, that @scubadada calls a toy, might be useful to other types of treatments, but I'll say it again, if manned by a trained technician. Getting someone with medical training is certainly better than getting "well meaning" internet advice.

My dive tank is 2atm at the bottom and I go on pure O2 back and forth to air for 20 minutes a day.. Works great for my MS. When in Bonaire I go deep on Nitrox 32 for the same treatment..

Jim..
